neither of this is simulation, both are 'deductions'. It is, of course nice that the simulator will deduce the above, but a scope will do as well AND not miss timing problems.

PS can the simulator handle the SILabs "type 2" UART (UART1 in the 12x, all UARTS f3xx -up)

What do you mean this is not simulation? The simulator gave me the information about the UART configuration. I did not deduce anything. I simply read the information presented in the SIMULATOR....
