#180257 - measuring piezo voltage
Hi.

I searched for "piezo" on the forum and all the hits imply the usage of a piezo buzzer. I would like to do the opposite: know when a piezo sensor has been struck (it puts out a voltage proportional to the force it was struck with) and sense the voltage so that I can convert that to a digital value. Basically, I'm trying to make my own version of an electronic drum that could then transmit a MIDI command.

Has anyone ever done this with a generic 8052? I would be interested in knowing how the voltage spike put out by the piezo is detected and measured, basically how it is latched as a voltage and measured...

Thanks for any tips on this!
