#177426 - Question about UART reset
Dear members,

I am working with C8051F231 and a 900MHz multipoint tranceiver. Everything works great, but I have the following question, that I could not find the answer in datasheets:

How can I reset the receiving section of UART? I know that leaving mark for some time, the UART resets. But I would like to know if using REN or reading the SBUF Ican force a reset in the UART. In my specific case, the digital output of the receiver (CC1020 from Texas) gives a continuos train of data, even without carrier (due to noise, etc). And I use the CARRIER DETECT for enable/disable the UART. But some times the carrier control also is noisy (if adjusting squelch registers near the toggle point). And I am afraid that the fast changes in REN (controlled in some way by carrier) could keep a intermediate state in UART machine.

Hope I was clear. Thank you in advance.

Daniel
