#176286 - You are absolutotally unconditionally confused Responding to: ???'s previous message |
however I don't want to change the hardware if I can avoid it because there are hundreds of these systems out in the field. So I'd like to come up with the most reliable, bullet-proof way of driving the bus with /RE and DE connected together and to my port pin.
How much time do you have, you have A LOT of learning to do before you will get this going ? You are absolutotally unconditionally confused !RI means read when LOW DE means transmit when HIGH so you do either transmit or receive. please repost when you have got that misconception out of your mind Yes, I know that the best way to do it is with interrupts! I will move on to that when I've got this working perfectly... NO, NO, change to interrupt driven IMMEDIATELY. you will get all kinds of muck in your code that will make the move a pain if you do not go the ISR route from the beginning. Erik |
