You might want to have a look into this application note:

Check the "safety factor" of your setup by determining the "Rqmax" with a proper (=expensive!) quartz and a cheap quartz according to the above link. This gives you an idea of the equivalent series resistance of cheap quartz ("R1" in the link).

Take care, that your setup is a proper HF design and shows very little stray capacitance and stray inductance!
