1)I Think the Atmel chips are serial programmed. If the method is in the data sheet or App Notes then the Host can program it. You Host would need extra memory to store the Program. Serial Memory ( Flash, FRAM, EEPROM) would be my choice.
2) Parallel programming the Chip. Many more wires and not all Mfg will give you the Info. 3) Many chips are IAP In Application Programmable. This means you could Make a serial Bootloader to talk to your Host CPU. This gives you a wider range of chips. 4) The Target Bootloader reads the chip directly. You would need to insure the chip can write its own Flash, IAP again. There are AT89C51 variants that have this. The Keil Search Tool may be of help to find one. |
