Sorry, I forgot to say where I put the scope leads. The positive scope lead was placed at pin 3 and the negative lead was placed at pin 5 of the DB9 connector connected to the MAX232 chip. Pin 3 of the DB9 runs to pin 14 of the MAX232 and pin 5 goes to GND.
Also, the voltages displayed on the scope are 5 volts per division if that helps clarify the signal levels. Thanks again, Brian |
