That is because Microsoft works on making Windows a secure OS. Sometimes so secure that you are not allowed to turn off your own computer. Remeber how they had to remove the scolding message that the disk had to be scanned because you didn't restart the machine correctly - oops, you couldn't restart it correctly...
But the really strong part is that they included online read/write/install on your disks, so people can maintain your machine for you. Connect the network cable, and maybe I can help retrieving the raw sectors :) |
