#184121 - Electric plane Vs hand plane Responding to: ???'s previous message |
C is a tool, so you can make all sorts of analogies.
As an amateur woodworker I like to use a hand plane as it gives a much better finish than a power plane, but if I ever did woodwork professionally, I'd never be able to afford the extra time of hand planing. Stretching the analogy, a power plane is more 'user hostile' than the hand plane as it's noisy, dusty and easy to remove too much material. Interestingly (or perhaps fortunately) I've never injured myself with a power plane but I have cut myself a few times on the hand plane. |
