#184109 - Still a hammer Responding to: ???'s previous message |
When building a house, it's not the tools, but the humans, that need to decide if the work is performed at a height where you need to put up some railing to stop people from falling. There is a limited amount of safety features that can be added to a tool. The big part of the safety work must happen between the ears of the user.
An electric saw normally requires two buttons to be pressed, to reduce the possibility of inadvertent activation. And it is designed so that you are unlikely to lose your grip and get your hand into the blade. But you can still attack your own leg if you are stupid. And you can perform work in materials where you can get debris in your eyes if you ignore goggles. C has the tools to allow development of safety nets. But it also allows people to build 20-story houses without railings. Tools that tries to protect a user from all forms of danger are also limited in that they only allows a user to solve problems that fits within the narrow openings left. |
