#182427 - invulnerability? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Andy,
In days gone by Mac users were protected from viruses/malware, by a very simple mechanism, numbers. The writers of viruses/malware, wanting the maximum bang for their effort, aimed at the systems that made up the vast majority of their targets. Mac users, as a percentage of the whole, made too small a target. Now the i-phone has fixed that. And just in case the sheer volume of targets isn't enough, Apple has sweetened the deal for malwriters by engineering their products to log all manner of valuable marketing information about their users. So to all Mac users out there, welcome to the 20th Century ;) Joe |
