One of the great features of Triscend was tool support - and it was free!

The reason I never did anything about the FPSLIC was precisely the cost of the tools.
People here who moan about the price of Keil have no idea what "expensive" really looks like!

That current Atmel web page says, "without the need for ... costly software tools". I don't know if that means they's changed the pricing policy for their tools, or they're just taking "costly" relative to the cost of a full ASIC design suite...
