#179817 - [OT] Atmel FPSLIC? |
I was just reminded of a very old post:
I said:
[Triscend] don't sell a core; they sell a chip with a "hard" 8032 in it. Thus you don't pay their NRE (non-recurrent engineering) fees; the cost of the IP is reflected in the price of the chip - as for any other standard, off-the-shelf microcontroller.
The only other company I know of with a similar product is Atmel with their FPSLIC. http://www.8052.com/forum/read/95318 The FPSLIC is still on Atmels website - http://www.atmel.com/products/FPSLIC/ - but I've never seen any other publicity for it, and never heard of anyone using it. Has anyone here ever heard of it? The DevKit is listed as Obsolete/Discontinued at Digikey. |
