#179734 - are resistors expensive?
Responding to: ???'s previous message

I think the main trick is actually to use the cheapest possible batteries. Normally 2032 size but with half or maybe even 25% of the capacity of a "real" 2032 battery. The goal here is to build them for maybe $0.50 each, so we are not talking about high-end materials.
Would one extra resistor really blow up the budget?

(Okay I know it would complicate the mechanical part of the thing. Aren't there coin-cell-sized flat resistors around? Or some other, similarly sized/shaped part, providing the proper current limitation?)

The result is very impressive, though.
