#175792 - What about those free OrCAD pre-Winders tools? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
You can get them via OldDosORCAD-something on Yahoo. There's a group.
I have the old v1.00 PCB software, and, in fact, bought all the stuff when it was offered commercially. The V1.0 stuff is a gridless auto-placing, autorotating ripup and retry autorouter and pretty decent manual editor, orders of magnitude better than any of the stuff for Windows that I've seen. What's available for free now is a later version of the PCB editor/autorouter, and a schematic capture package orders of magnitude better than the Cadence or Mentor tools, although I've got both of the latter right here. I've done what Windows tools required two draftsmen two weeks to put on a schematic in half a day when deadline was approaching, without even breaking a sweat using that tool, and creating symbols is quite straightforward. Moreover, the doc's are all there, too. I can do in 5 minutes with DOS-OrCAD what takes Windows that long to load. I bet you can too. RE |
