Not in the US, but the effect is spreading here.
I think the Military can still use it in the EU, but i hear that is going to end. Ni-Cads have two strengths cheap and high discharge rates. Assuming that the A123 Power tool Li-Ion Cells may be a choice. Their down side is size the are twice the volume of and 18650 size Li-Ion. But on the plus side they do not burn. |
