Except that no normal vehicle has so huge cranking power needs. Getting 7V 600A from a 12V battery is only 4.2kW which means that a huge number of batteries are needed. I think maybe 1000A 7V is about best-in-class for a 50-60Ah 12V starter battery, which means that 40-50 batteries are needed.

300kW is high-end sports-car power, or a truck engine at full power.
