#174018 - I hope that is a return ticket Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Definatly off topic and only relevent to British people but Ive got to travel from Birmingham to Hatfield and its going to cost me over £130 because I am forced to take the train
I hope that is a return ticket. For us outside the UK what is the approx distance. Not "and only relevent to British people" the situation exist in many places. Since Mt Airy is a 'distant suburb' of Winston-Salem there is a subsidized bus (clean with good seats) that charges $2 for the 35 mile trip. However that route only run a few times in the morning and a few times in the late afternoon. If you want to take the same trip by public transport, at other times, you need to "go Greyhound" (dirty with lousy seats) at $22. There are many other examples in the US where not adding to the pollution by using public transport does not make economical sense. Erik |
