#173529 - Dangers, obvious and otherwise Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Everybody,
I remember being taught, in first-semester undergraduate chemistry lab, that hot glass looks exactly like cold glass. Still, when I built a HeNe tube laser as my sophomore research and design project, I found out the hard way that even though the only power source was a pack of AA cells, the multiplier circuit really did generate 15000 Volts. Once I picked myself up off the floor I knew from experience that 15kV looks just like 5V right up to the instant you (even inadvertantly) touch it. BTW Michael, mine was skydiving. Joe |
