#173516 - Is electronics particularly dangerous
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Professional engineers take safety very seriously, and generally have a very 'risk averse' mindset. This is entirely appropriate when your products will inevitably be misused by less well educated users. We therefore notice the risky fumblings of the beginner and post appropriate warnings. It does however remind me of my own fumblings as a teenager, poking around inside a valve (= tube to the Americans) TV set, and being 'surprised' to discover a chassis connected to neutral, 800V peak across the line scan coils etc.

Is electronics dangerous compared to free diving, motor cycling, tombstoning or bob sleighing?
