If you leave the pack on-load beyond that point, that cell is effectively being reverse-charged - which will kill it very quickly! To get optimum life from a battery pack needs careful control of both charging and discharge. Ideally, there would be a cut-off to avoid damage due to over-discharge - but many (most?) consumer devices skimp on this. because it can no longer be recharged after being totally discharged, even once, and even with a brand-new battery. It is a bit surprising that it can be that bad after just one episode!! |
