take your busses out on headers unless its totally avoidable!
I don't know the exact size of your board, or wich parts you have chosen for the project,
but its possible to have processer, RAM, ROM, latch and chipselect on a creditcard sized pcb, even using thru hole parts, and with space available for a few headers.
No matter how you do things, your most expensive component is your pcb. So do a propper layout,
use a four layer board, in order to have a solid groundplane, and have it manufactured somewhere.
Olimex is quite cheap, and as far as I know, their quality is oaky. Read the specs. before you do the artwork!
