The actual case is some sort of machine control device. The outputs from the electronics control relays, wich then controls motors and other mechanical stuff. Currents and volatges on the electronics side is low - 24V DC and some 25 mA for each relay. As far as I understand our client it is a safety/service thing. Electricians are used to have the switch on the live side of the suply. Having the relay tied in betwen a permanent +24V and switched ground could confuse the guys, and cause a potential dangerous situation. He refers to "maskindirektivet" a Danish translation/interpretation of some EU regulations. best regards Per |
