#164319 - Parts' costs Responding to: ???'s previous message |

Yes, for us in Europe or in the U.S.A., but not for someone in India or Pakistan. Erik said:
why do you profess to know that inverters are more costly and parts are not? Ah, you mean the parts are so expensive that "it's a foolish idea" to build an inverter by yourself? But this is valid for nearly all products and developments ever discussed here. There's nearly always a manufacturer who already fabricates and sells something comparable. Not even mentioning, that Haq could want to build such an inverter for educational tasks or because he needs a special construction providing features that usually fabricated inverters do not have. hwre have I, by stressing that "fabricating an inverter is really hard stuff" in any way been "assuming that they cannot solve all these problems". Well, you called it a foolish idea to do it by yourself. But no I have got you. You only mean the parts' costs, right? Erik said:
There are, you know as well as me, some that always think "I can make it cheaper" and e.g. come out with a microvolt analog two sided board and post "why is it not steady?". I have a project processing signals in the 100nV range, the board is only a double sided one and works beautifully. Erik, if someone comes and posts "why is it not steady?", you will assume that he wants to save money and you will post that what he wants to do is a "foolish idea". You will discourage him and your "following" warnings will often make him to look like a fool. I, on the other hand, try to understand what's really going on and try to help him. Ap and I have given Haq some application notes about inverter stuff. Now he can decide by himself whether he wants to try to build such a thing. But then based on facts and not on your "warnings".
