[1] Actually, if the modem is set to "Terse" mode (numeric result codes), it might just respond with "0"... Actually, the modem can be also set to not respond at all, or to some fancy handshake, or combination of all. If you want to go for perfection, get some enemy of yours to set the dozen of modems to the most vicious settings; then place them to a black box and try to communicate with them... :-) Andy Neil said:
