#163895 - A Cunning Plan... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Oliver Sedlacek said:
Do have any reason for trying to do something cunning other than engineering curiosity? I was just wondering if there were any tricks to simplify the process, and/or make it more reliable. My main concern with just "trying all the speeds in turn" was, as I said, if the modem auto-bauds and so you get stuck with an unnecessarily high or low speed. But, thinking about it, that needn't be a real problem: Once I've got comms with the modem, I can then send it the command to explicitly set it to whatever speed I like! But I think I'll still go with the idea of trying the "preferred" and "most likely" speeds first... |
