As already stated, it is cable capacitance that is the limiting factor on the transmission speed.

Now you need to study some datasheets and see if you can find one that can manage 115k2bps with the capacitance of the length & type of cable that you want to use.

I suggest that you start at the Maxim website http://www.maxim-ic.com and look at their fastest RS232 transceivers...
