But now that you mention, it makes good sense. As I interpreted it, 20ns is too short a time for the slave to decide on the verdict; put it out on SDO and then withdraw it also !!

To sum up : The verdict put out by the slave is valid AFTER a maximum delay of 20ns and lasts till the next rising edge of the clock.
