#149074 - Delphi, C++ Builder, etc
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Russell Bull said:
Delphi used to be able to generate one executable and not need any other run-time libraries etc.

The same is true of C++ Builder v5.

Of course, putting everything into a single executable significantly increases the .exe size - but removes all problems with worrying that the "target" PC will have all the necessary versions of all the necessary libraries in all the necessary places...

As ever, it's a tradeoff.

I'm not sure if this is the case with the latest tools

Neither am I.

With Delphi5 and Asynchpro (sic), you can 'write' a terminal program with no code!

When searching, Note that it's "AsyncPro" - without the 'h'

If you use USB chips that have drivers already written, that saves a lot of work writing your own. Or you can use existing drivers like the HID spec and make your microprocessor USB device behave that way.

Absolutely!
