They are as useful as that 8255 we all love talking about. ;-) Yeah, the 8255, a good workhorse still pulling the plough, isn't it... :-) If I understood it correctly, Richard intends to use the PC as a real-time controller. And, in this case, getting rid of Winux - and, together with them, drivers for USB - is inevitable. What you're left with is only a handful of "standard" things - and LPT is one among these. JW |
