What about making anything but whitespace to be non-characters (ignored, whatever) BOTH in the search phrase and the text?
For example, "K&R" would then be searched as "KR", but so would it "appear" for the search engine in the text of messages. I am not good programmer enough to forecast the possible troubles this fix would bring with itself, though... :-) JW |
