Hi Erik,
I'm curious for you to explain your take of state machines and look up tables. Why do you consider them more valuable than a well stated algorithm, or an iterative process, affecting the underlying mathematics? I certainly appreciate that a look up table can save many subsequently unnecessary calculations, and a well designed state machine can eliminate the need for much dedicated hardware. But without these tools, their tasks could still be done. Which then, is the more valuable? Joe |
