#142420 - this depends...
Responding to: ???'s previous message
1. I have already given here a link to a project, where in a - slightly overclocked, I admit, but this IS a toy - AVR, a complete 8-bit computer of that era was emulated, mainly consisting from video generation and i8080 emulation.

So, if you can accept monochrome PAL resolution (could be possible to convert to NTSC) - some twohundredandsomething lines and appropriate number of columns - this is a half-ready solution.

2. I am currently playing with this - it's a TV resolution again, but this time 15-bit color - I have wired it up to a '51 and slooooowly writing libraries when time permits. I plan to hook it up to my "home automation" (which at the moment is lights switching only, but already in v0.3 and feature requests are churning in... :-) so this is a long-long-long-term plan :-( ) and display fancy pictures of what is going on in the house, on the telly, during the long and boring ads :-)

I could share with you the interface and the snippets I have written, but you'd have to purchase the gadget itself. I don't say it's a miracle and could be reproduced easily if you are familiar a little bit with CPLDs.

3. this is work of Valentin Angelovski, a member here.

4. See what has Erik written above.
