#142041 - Why would you not use it??

I never used the HW SPI and I really see no reason why I should use it.

Of course, you don't have to use it - but, if it's there, why would you not use it?!

In England we say, "Why have a dog and bark yourself?"

Why would you buy a car with automatic transmission, and then change the gears manually?!

In most cases ... like an ADC, ENC, I2C etc. it is nonsens to use the SPI interface.

Of course it's nonsense to use SPI if you have an I2C peripheral - but that's not the case here!

Again, if you have an SPI peripheral (ADC, ENC, whatever), and your processor has hardware SPI, why would you choose not to use it?!

What is nonsensical about using SPI when the peripheral requires it and the processor provides it?!

Show me how to use the HW SPI in case of the ENC

The examples you posted both use the processor's hardware SPI:

is there any way to have 3 PINs at the SPI interface?

SPI is called a 3-wire interface because it requires three wires (ie, three pins)
