Not so. Jan's original ASM program contained the exact same error and it sat there for about 30 hours before anybody found it. To anyone halfway fluent in C, there's nothing more obvious about 13h being a hex number in an ASM program than there is about 0x13 being one in C.

The REAL problem was Jan's tricky comment, which didn't match the code. That sort of thing is bad news in any language.
