Responding to: ???'s previous message
with respect to a single character (backspace) echoing back three characters (and no flow control being defined).

Programm a function key of a terminal program to a string of 80 chars and another function key to 79 (or 80) backspace characters.
Then alternatingly press both function keys - if you're quick enough you can cause trouble for a function implemented according to the spec.
