Ok, this is way off topic, but interesting nonetheless (I think). I was just reading over the ballot measures for the upcoming November elections, and came across yet another of a seemingly endless example of blatant lying.
To wit: a ballot measure for a general obligation bond in which the proponents have in their argument the phrase "without raising taxes". Just what do they think a general obligation bond does? It raises taxes! That's the nature of the beast. This doesn't necessarily make it bad. But the proponents have lied. Clue to those politicos with brains (assuming there are any): If you lie to me, what do you think the chances are that I'll vote for your proposition? (Hint: try the number zero.) |
