According to the doc's, the controller in a character LCD does allow you to read what's in the display memory. It also allows you to load a limited character set, and to use otherwise unused locations in the LCD controller's display memory as storage, if you really want to.
Erik, of course, would rather spend the money for an external RAM, even if you only need one byte of external storage. <sigh> RE |
