#116723 - Re: 'Jap-ish' Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I once worked with a certain Japanese microcontroller.
The manuals were written in Japanese, then translated into English by Germans! Unsurprisingly, they were dreadful! :-( If I recall, these 'Jap-ish' texts were the 'only' technical documents where it was always easier to just 'look at the diagrams' and try to figure out the rest yourself. They were like no other document - where the content of every paragraph began 'somewhere in the middle' then went completely random from there. My first experience with 'Jap-ish' came over ten years ago (ie: when I started my engineering career), when I was forced off a commissioning site by an angry client who could not understand why I couldn't just 'Read the f####n manual'!
