#111449 - any decent compiler will give you a warn Responding to: ???'s previous message |
C has a different number of intrinsic sorts of variables (types), like int, char, float etc. It is poorly typed because you can quite legally assign one type to another.
This, I hold for an advantage, I often typecast to write "processor friendly C". If you accidentially "assign one type to another" any decent compiler will give you a warning. If casting a structure pointer as a short was impossible was impossible, some of my C code would have to revert to assembler. Erik |
