You get micros with a slices of programmble array and FPGA with softcore of a micro. You get even get other combinations like hardcore of processor within the programmable array.
And in some apps they do compete with micros. Of coursey, as yet they cannot replace the low chips like a 8 pin LPC or even the classic 51 due to the price difference for one thing. |
