For most weighing applications, the humble strain gauge is used. As for the 'electromagnetic force transducer' you talk of - I have no knowlege of such a device. The weight scales I've seen that use an electromagnet use it as a force balancing scheme - a measured amount of energy is applied to to electromagnet until it balances the weight applied. |
