#102028 - so have I, it is quite dramatic. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I have seen diodes exploded off the board though !
However, I have yet to see a properly rated reverse mounted diode explode. Most diodes I have see work in a pyrotechnic fashion have been the \"reverse polarity protection\" diodes when a short occured and the bombastic service cemter supply was feeding them. It actually happens now and then here because the supply in the field is not strong enough to blow the diode, whereas the supply used by the repair center is and the capaictor after the diode is .. well .. a capacitor. Erik There is the blasted automatic backslashes again |
