"Exploded"... I was working for a small robotics research firm back in the 80's, and got to witness 6 TO3 cased Darlington's leap off the heatsink and embed themselves in the wall across the room. I'm not sure if the back-EMF diodes survived or not, as the whole board was pretty well charred. Thankfully, I was not in the line of fire, and it wasn't my design. :) Rob |
