I have built a small board that has MAX232, 12Mhz Crystal with power supply and other things necessary for ISP. Use Flashmagic to program the CPU. After programming the CPU, I remove the CPU from the socket on this board, and put it into the final product that has 24MHz crystal. It works fine. So you get the idea, even yours will will work too.
