#175296 - People regularly ask for help with unknown components
Responding to: ???'s previous message
How many times have seen people asking for help on this forum, when trying to use totally undocumented Display X?

And it wasn't too long ago, we saw questions about some unknown 8051 variant no one had heard about.

I most definitely recommend people to dump components if proper documentation can't be found. And when using components, to make sure that they save copies of all relevant documents, tools, notes, ... so that they 10 years later (when the company and web site is no more) can retrieve all required tools and documentation.
