#173289 - I've used it
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I've used SDCC for commercial products where the customer needs long term support. The customer archives the compiler with the source code knowing that he doesn't need to buy a license from Keil 10 years down the road, when they may not still be in business.

There are a couple technical of 'gotchas', and in particular the endianness is different between Keil and SDCC. This can also be handled with #defines and suitable include files, but it's not always obvious where there is an implicit endian assumption in the source code.
