#173289 - I've used it Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I've used SDCC for commercial products where the customer needs long term support. The customer archives the compiler with the source code knowing that he doesn't need to buy a license from Keil 10 years down the road, when they may not still be in business.
There are a couple technical of 'gotchas', and in particular the endianness is different between Keil and SDCC. This can also be handled with #defines and suitable include files, but it's not always obvious where there is an implicit endian assumption in the source code. |
