Nowadays, of course, things called "BASIC" bear very little resemblance to the original Dartmouth BASIC...! Everyone else, of course, denied that they used it. Even today, I think there is a certain snobbery that BASIC isn't a "Real" language for "Real Programmers" doing "Real Projects" Probably due to its origins as a school language, and the fact that the 'B' stands for "Beginners"...? |
