You still haven't mentioned if the slaves are connected as a star, or if you have a single bus where the cable continues from one slave to the next.
Note that if you have a bus, then you get 6 slaves * 300mA or in total 1.8A. That is a very, very, very high current for the Cat 5 cable intended for sending data, not power. |
