#162613 - 7 clocks Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I designed 7 clocks for offices which are synchronized together. I made 1 master clock the other 6 clocks are just displays that get serial stream from the master clock. The total cable length is 100 meters but distances between clocks varies some are 10 meters apart others are 20 meters apart.
Baud rate is 19200 BPS and I send a packet of data every 1 second which contains start byte, seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years, CRC and stop byte. The power supply is in the main clock and feeds the other clocks by shorting 2 twisted pairs in the CAT5 cable for both ground and VCC. Each clock consumes about 300mA current. Mahmood |
